MCLAREN F1 - PERSONAL EXPLORATION

After completing my McLaren P1 project—my first attempt at organic modeling in 3d, early junior year—I was eager to see how the scene would look with a professionally crafted model.

 

I wanted to use this project revision as an opportunity to practice and experiment with C4D's camera settings, such as aperture control, bokeh, motion blur, depth of field, and color correction.

Once I began exploring the scene, the process quickly became highly iterative. I continuously refined the camera angles, adjusted settings, and experimented with different approaches to better understand the visual language of the project. Each change revealed new possibilities, allowing me to progressively push the design further and elevate the overall composition.

I really enjoyed developing this personal project, as it encouraged a more intentional and exploratory approach to my creative process. It became an opportunity to deepen my understanding of composition and lighting, while recognizing how subtle camera adjustments can dramatically shift the tone and energy of a scene. Although challenging, the process was highly rewarding and ultimately contributed to meaningful technical and artistic growth.
